Kristen Albert

Kristen recently moved to Greenville from Austin, TX where she was blessed to live in a city with an abundance of amazing yoga. She found yoga 8 years ago when she began training for marathons. Because of her gymnastics background, she immediately fell in love with Vinyasa flow because of its creative, rhythmic element that included balance, strength, and total body awareness. She finds great joy in the truth that yoga is never mastered, never mechanical or habitual, which has provided her opportunity to continuously experience deeper and more profound moments within herself, transforming her life positively on so many levels. Kristen is certified through Yoga Alliance (200RYT) in Vinyasa flow through Frog Lotus Yoga and is very grateful to have the opportunity to share her passion for yoga with others. John Scalcione

John has been practicing yoga seriously for 3+ years with his primary focus and love being Advanced Vinyasa. His training background is deeply rooted in the Ashtanga lineage and it will be apparent in his teaching. He also practices Acro-Yoga, Aerial Yoga, SUP (Stand Up Paddleboard) Yoga, Bikram, and other styles as time permits. John looks forward to helping others learn and grow throughout their yoga journey. John completed his 200-hour teacher training with Ally Ford in September 2014 and teaches the Southern Flow series at Southern Om.

Megan Clohessy

Megan has been practicing yoga for a little over 4 years and started strictly for the physical benefits and exercise. It wasn’t until her sister, who is also a yoga teacher, invited her to try hot yoga, that she knew she loved it and wanted more! Megan loves how hot yoga has challenged her body and ignited her mind and now wants to share that passion with others in her teaching. Megan completed her 200-hour teacher training with Ally Ford in September 2014 and teaches the Southern Flow series at Southern Om. 

KayAnna Charles

KayAnna recently moved here from Utah where she received her 200-hr Yoga Alliance certification with 3B Yoga. She started studying Ashtanga yoga three years ago. It quickly turned into an essential part of her daily routine as she realized yoga was not only the practice of asanas, or postures, but a mindset. The mental and emotional stability she found from her practice was invaluable. She also loved to feel as her body became stronger and her endurance grew. While KayAnna enjoys practicing and teaching multiple types of yoga, Ashtanga Yoga will always remain at the core of her yogic practice--she even met her husband while practicing at their Ashtanga studio in Utah! Her practice and teaching are summed up by these two quotes from Pattahbi Jois: "practice and all is coming" and "you are where you're supposed to be."

KayAnna will be teaching Southern Flow, as well as working the Front Desk. Welcome KayAnna!

Kira McKeown

Kira McKeown, originally from Pittsburgh, always loved being physically active in gymnastics, swimming, and long distance cycling. After becoming a mother of two daughters, she knew she needed something deeper than just the physical exercise. After taking her first yoga class she realized it was the first time her mind was quiet. Knowing that there was work to be done on the inside, yoga became an integral part of her life. Taking care of herself through breath and the mind body connection. Kira received her 200 hour teacher training from Asheville Yoga Center and looks forward to sharing the gift of yoga.
When she is not in the studio she is enjoying all the outdoor activities she can with her two daughters Benner and Juno, her husband Scott and their dog Suki.

Athena Seay

A native of South Carolina, Athena brings to her practice an opening to grace and strength. She is grateful for the gifts that yoga has brought to her. These include overcoming a back injury and helping to raise her three children. Athena is certified through Yoga Alliance (230 RYT) through the Asheville Yoga Center, she also holds certificates in Pre/post natal Yoga and Pilates. Athena has been fortunate enough to take classes from many world masters including Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rea and John Friend. The greatest pleasure in her learning though comes from seeing the transformation that yoga has on her students.

Joanna Klee

Yoga teacher, marketing leader, and kids coach Joanna Klee focuses on teaching each class with breath, sweat, and laughter. She invests the capital needed to cultivate a family vibe in and out of the studio. Adventures in global markets, in presentations across North America, and in parenting influence her teaching and translate into a playful yet intense practice.

Joanna integrates the physicality and mental focus from her passion for sports into yoga poses and athletic sequences. Side effects from her class may include heavy breathing, excessive sweating, and an unexpected urge to take new risks.

Sarah Primeau

Yoga found Sarah Oliver back in 2004 when training and racing for endurance sports began to cause wear and tear injuries on a consistent basis. Once she landed on a yoga mat, she quickly learned to fully appreciate the mind, body and soul connection that only yoga seemed to be able to provide. In 2008, she received her 500 Hour Yoga Alliance certification through Sunstone Yoga in Dallas, TX and has been teaching and continually learning ever since. Encouraging and enabling others to live a healthy lifestyle, Sarah is also certified in Itsy Bitsy Yoga ©, SPINNING©, and STOTT© Pilates. Her ultimate intention for each class is to enable students to take their yoga practice with them out into the world beyond their mats.
Southern Flow is a flowing series of sun salutations, lunges, twists, balance postures, backbends, core strengthening, hip openers and inversions often referred to as Power Yoga. Designed to build core strength and flexibility while still maintaining focus on a meditative practice.
