Change Is the Only Constant

"Change is the only constant." — Heraclitus

If you've practiced yoga for any length of time, you've probably discovered that the practice is about far more than stretching or strengthening the body.

Every time we step onto our mat, we're invited into a conversation with change.

One day a pose feels effortless. The next day it feels completely different. Our breath changes. Our energy changes. The seasons change. Life changes.

Yoga doesn't ask us to resist those changes. It teaches us to meet them with awareness, patience, and grace.

That lesson doesn't end when we roll up our mats.

It follows us into our relationships, our work, our families, and even the small inconveniences that life inevitably brings.

Sometimes change arrives as something exciting—a new opportunity, a fresh beginning, or an unexpected adventure. Other times it shows up as a detour, requiring us to slow down, adjust our plans, or see things from a different perspective.

Neither experience is good or bad.

Both are opportunities to practice.

Here at Southern Om Hot Yoga, we're experiencing one of those moments ourselves.

Construction will soon begin in the overflow parking area at our West End studio. While this means those spaces will be unavailable, we're actively exploring additional parking solutions to make your visit as convenient as possible.

In the meantime, you can still find convenient parking nearby:

  • Perry Avenue: Free street parking

  • Main Street: Free parking for up to 2 hours

We simply encourage you to allow yourself a few extra minutes before class while we all adjust to this temporary transition.

As yogis, we often remind ourselves that peace doesn't come from life staying the same. It comes from learning to remain grounded as life continues to change.

This small shift in our parking situation is an opportunity to practice exactly what we spend so much time cultivating on our mats: flexibility, patience, and presence.

We're grateful to have such a supportive community, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding as we navigate this transition together.

The path to your mat may look a little different going forward, but once you step through our doors, you'll find the same welcoming community, the same warmth, and the same opportunity to reconnect with yourself.

After all, while change may be constant, so is our commitment to creating Your Oasis in a Busy Day.
