Greenville has grown and changed tremendously over the past 16 years.
New neighborhoods. New businesses. New fitness trends. New ways to move, exercise, and take care of ourselves.
And through all of that change, one thing has remained constant.
Southern Om Hot Yoga has been bringing the heat to Greenville for 16 years.
Since opening our doors in 2010, we've welcomed people from all walks of life, watched students discover strength they didn't know they had, and seen firsthand how a consistent yoga practice can become an important part of someone's life.
But what makes Southern Om different?
It's more than the temperature of our rooms, the variety of classes we offer, or the convenience of our two locations.
It's the experience we've spent 16 years cultivating—and the belief that yoga can help people feel stronger, healthier, and more connected to themselves.
1. We Believe Hot Yoga Should Actually Be Hot
Not all heated yoga experiences are the same.
At Southern Om, we take our heat seriously.
Our Southern Flow and Power Flow classes are maintained at 95–100°F, while our signature Southern 26 classes reach 103–105°F, with controlled humidity of 30–40%.
We offer some of the hottest yoga classes in Greenville, with dedicated heating systems designed to maintain the temperatures our students expect.
Why does that matter?
Because for people who love traditional hot yoga, the heat is an intentional part of the experience.
Practicing in a heated environment challenges you to become more aware of your breathing, pace your effort, and stay present when things become uncomfortable.
The warmth can also make movement feel more accessible, while the practice itself develops strength, mobility, balance, and endurance.
The goal isn't to push harder simply because the room is hot.
It's to learn how to work intelligently with your body.
And for students who love that unmistakable feeling of a truly hot yoga class, Southern Om delivers an experience worth returning to.
2. We're Greenville's Home for the Traditional 26-Posture Hot Yoga Series
One of the things that makes Southern Om especially distinctive is our commitment to Southern 26.
Southern Om is the only Greenville studio offering the traditional 26-posture series, commonly known as Bikram yoga.
Unlike a vinyasa class, where sequences change from one practice to another, Southern 26 follows a consistent series of 26 postures and breathing exercises.
And there's something incredibly valuable about that consistency.
When you practice the same sequence repeatedly, you begin to notice things that might otherwise go unnoticed.
A posture that once felt impossible becomes more accessible.
Your balance improves.
You recognize where you tend to hold tension.
You become more familiar with your breathing, your concentration, and your response to challenge.
The sequence stays the same.
You are the one who changes.
Practiced in a room maintained at 103–105°F, Southern 26 combines physical effort with concentration and moments of stillness.
It's a powerful complement to flowing yoga styles, strength training, running, cycling, and other physical activities.
And because the sequence is consistent, it's a practice you can return to for years, continuing to discover something new each time.
3. Sixteen Years of Experience Matters
There's something to be said for a business that has served its community for more than a decade and a half.
Southern Om has been part of Greenville's wellness landscape since 2010.
We've watched students begin their yoga journeys, develop lasting practices, form friendships, and discover how much better they feel when they make time for themselves.
We've welcomed beginners who weren't sure they could handle the heat and experienced practitioners looking to deepen their understanding of yoga.
We've celebrated milestones, supported students through different seasons of life, and watched the practice become a meaningful part of countless routines.
Sixteen years doesn't mean we've stopped growing or evolving.
It means we've had the opportunity to learn, adapt, and continue refining what we offer.
And we're grateful to have been voted Best Yoga Studio in the Upstate for 11 consecutive years.
That recognition belongs to the community that continues to show up, practice, and make Southern Om what it is.
4. Two Greenville Locations. One Southern Om Community.
Consistency becomes easier when your practice fits into your life.
That's why having two convenient Greenville locations is such an important part of the Southern Om experience.
Our Woodruff Road studio, located near Whole Foods Market, makes it convenient to practice whether you're coming from work, home, or running errands on Greenville's east side.
Our West End studio, located on South Main Street in downtown Greenville, offers another beautiful space to step away from the busyness of your day.
Both locations feature specialized radiant heating systems, thoughtfully designed spaces, and amenities to support your experience before and after class.
And with more than 80 classes offered across our two studios each week, you have the freedom to find the classes, teachers, and times that work best for you.
Whether you're a morning person, a lunchtime yogi, or someone who needs an evening reset, there's a place for you here.
5. Your Practice Can Be More Than One Thing
One of the greatest advantages of practicing at Southern Om is the variety of experiences available within one community.
Some days, you want the familiar discipline and deep concentration of Southern 26.
Other days, you want to move, breathe, and flow through an energizing Southern Flow or Power Flow class.
Maybe you're looking to build strength with Southern Inferno or Southern Sculpt.
Or perhaps your body is asking for a slower, quieter experience through Yin, Southern Stretch, or a more mindful flow.
Your needs change.
Your energy changes.
Your life changes.
And your yoga practice can change with you.
You don't have to choose between strength and flexibility, challenge and recovery, movement and stillness.
You can make room for all of them.
That variety is part of what makes a long-term yoga practice sustainable.
6. The Real Difference Is What You Take Home
Of course, the hottest room in Greenville doesn't mean much if the experience doesn't make a positive difference in your life.
The real value of yoga isn't measured only by how much you sweat, how deeply you stretch, or how challenging a class feels.
It's also found in the moments outside the studio.
When you notice you're handling a stressful situation with more patience.
When you feel stronger carrying groceries or climbing stairs.
When your balance improves.
When you recognize that your body needs rest instead of another intense workout.
When you make time for yourself even during a demanding week.
And when you discover that the hour you spend on your mat influences how you experience the other 23 hours of your day.
That's why we believe consistency matters.
Not because you need to practice every day or achieve a particular posture.
But because returning to your mat gives you another opportunity to take care of yourself.
Your Oasis in a Busy Day. For 16 Years and Counting.
There are more ways than ever to exercise, move, and stay active in Greenville.
And we think that's a wonderful thing.

For 16 years, we've believed that yoga can be an important part of living a healthier, happier, more balanced life.
That belief hasn't changed.
And neither has our commitment to bringing the heat.
